Today's country tidbits...

In this season of giving, Jimmy Wayne is giving up. Giving up his home for a while, giving up his bed, giving up his normal life as he walks 1700 miles to bring attention to the plight of foster kids and homeless teens. He and his sister had a very rough upbringing, and he never has forgotten what it feels like to be homeless and hopeless. When in a restaurant, he boxes half of the meal as soon as it arrives, in case he meets a hungry person on the street. He carries clothes, shoes and blankets in his trunk in case he sees someone who needs them. And he's walking from Nashville to Phoenix, starting on New Year's Day, using the Meet Me Halfway event to raise awareness in the general population, and to raise hope in the hearts of homeless teens.

The top 10 country songs of 2009, based on radio airplay, are:

1. Jason Aldean "She's Country"
2. Zac Brown Band "Whatever It Is"
3. Darius Rucker "It Won't Be Like This for Long"
4. Keith Urban "Sweet Thing"
5. Toby Keith "God Love Her"
6. Dierks Bentley "Sideways"
7. Lady Antebellum "I Run to You"
8. Rodney Atkins "It's America"
9. Dierks Bentley "Feel That Fire"
10. Zac Brown Band "Chicken Fried"

Taylor Swift is up for a boatload of Grammys, and will probably be pretty busy collecting them all. But she's just picked up two more assignments that night...she'll be performing on the show, and she'll also be a presenter. Lady Antebellum will also be performing at the Grammys, which air on January 31st.

Tonight's the night for Faith Hill's Christmas special, "A Home for the Holidays" on CBS. On PBS, join Trisha Yearwood for "Christmas at Belmont." And if you missed it the first time, catch it today - Oprah's Holiday Music Extravaganza show, featuring Sugarland and Tim McGraw is on again today.
