How many people were at a live country music event over the past weekend? Let’s run the numbers:
- CMA Music Festival – 71,000 people per day over four days
- Miranda Lambert in Detroit – 100,000 over three days
- Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw in Dallas and Kansas City – 95,000 people
- Brad Paisley at Wrigley Field – 38,500 concert-goers
Martina McBride knocked it out of the park with her closing concert at the CMA Music Festival. Her set included favorites, plus a few newer nuggets from her latest album. “I love the record Eleven that we made. It’s a special record to me for a lot of reasons. For me, it signaled a lot of new beginnings and trying new things – getting out of my comfort zone a bit and digging a little deeper. So I’m really proud of it.”
Jason Aldean took a few days off to hit the beach after the CMA Music Festival, but all wasn’t white sand and umbrella drinks. He was ticketed on Monday for swimming while double red flags were posted at the beach. He can afford the $100 fine for sure, but wasn’t really happy about the ticket, tweeting, “Dear officer who gave me a ticket on the beach today for swimming in the water with double red flags.. Thanx for the warning Barney Fife!”
Kenny Chesney has a part in a promo for ESPN. Haven’t seen it? Here you go…
Congratulations to Eric Church on his latest wall bling – “Springsteen” has been certified platinum and his debut album, “Sinners Like Me,” has been certified gold. Plus, “Springsteen” is the #1 country song in America this week.
